International Rotary Day

February 23, 2019 • The Rotary Club of Dorado participated in Rotary Week at the Plaza Las Americas.  February 23 marked the 114th birthday of the Rotary.

On February 23, 1905, attorney Paul Harris, met with three of his friends in a room at the Unity Building in Chicago to form the Rotary Club.  It was formed with the idea that professionals with different backgrounds could exchange ideas, form lifelong friendships and give back to their communities.

The Rotary’s name was created from the group’s meetings that were rotated among the member’s offices.

To this day, there are 34,282 member clubs worldwide in over 200 countries and territories and it links 1.2 million individuals, known as Rotarians, who have joined.
